Young Performers, London Pupils of the School have been invited by Young Performers on four occasions to appear in their performances at Her Majestys Theatre, Haymarket in London’s West End—home of Phantom of the Opera.
Although rather nervous to appear at such a prestigious venue, the pupils are always thrilled and give a magnificent performance—having performed styles of dance from ballet to tap to modern jazz—also Irish Dance.

In November 2008, Young Performers invited us to appear in their Variety Show at Shaftesbury Theatre, London—the current home of “Hairspray”. Dance groups from all over the country and even from as far away as Spain were also on the bill. A great thrill for the girls to peep backstage and use the dressing rooms of the cast and, of course, photos had to be taken at Michael Ball’s dressing room! The girls performed two dances in different styles, a lyrical jazz dance to “Over The Rainbow” and a street dance to “Pump It”.
They were a knockout and even received applause and cheers from the other members of the cast. “This is the best feeling I have ever had in my life” said one of the girls as she came offstage!

I am so proud of them all, they gave of their best, were on their best behaviour , were very co-operative and were very professional all day - even when we had to stand out in the cold in the morning waiting for the theatre to open! They rose to the occasion and pushed their technique and performance up another notch! What a great achievement!
What a great day! “When can we come back again?” they asked. Well, Young Performers are insisting that we make a return visit—so could be soon! |
