Regular external exam sessions are held. These are attended by an official examiner of International Dance Teachers Association who gives an independent assessment of the technique and performance of the pupils and the standard of teaching at Happy Feet Dance School.

All students of the School (from age 3 years upwards) are invited to take part in these exam sessions which, although not compulsory, do give pupils a real sense of achievement and increases confidence.
The School has consistently achieved excellent results in ballet, tap and modern jazz. The examiners have also commended the School on the high standard of grooming and of behaviour and the pupils’ eagerness to learn and their strong technique.
An exam session (including professional exams) was held in June 2009 with 100% success in ballet, tap and modern jazz. All pupils achieved over 65%, most were awarded 75% (Commended) and above.
For some pupils, this was their first exam session and they were thrilled for their achievements to be recognised.
